In an article from Hospitality News Resource (www.hotelnewsresource.com), thirty-four percent (34%) of travelers, who took an online survey created by CHG Coyle Hospitality Group, indicated that the Internet was the source for the best hotel rate. However, 25% indicated that calling the hotel directly also gets the lowest rate. 'Even if the caller is rate-motivated, they experience a hotel's service and hospitality meaningfully for the first time when they call. A hotel's performance at this critical juncture is an opportunity that should be maximized to its fullest. The buyer has looked and now they have decided to touch.' Hotels that portray outstanding hospitality and service skills over the phone will remind potential guests that while the Internet is innovative and convenient, great service is just as important.
