Millions of visitors make Las Vegas their vacation destination every year. But what makes Sin City so memorable?

It could be the more than 35 wedding chapels, over 150,000 slot machines, the amazing warm weather, or the various world renowned luxury resorts and casinos lining the infamous Vegas strip. Whatever your reason is for visiting this eclectic city, be sure to take your vitamins and prepare for an unforgettable journey!

Las Vegas was first discovered by Rafael Rivera in 1829. He noticed the abundance of wild grasses and abounding water supply and called it "The Meadows", Las Vegas in Spanish. During the early 1900's the main railway was completed, establishing Las Vegas as a viable railway town. It wasn't until 1946 when Bugsy Siegel's Flamingo Hotel opened its doors, ushering in the gaming and gambling era of the city. Forty three years later The Mirage opened as the city's first mega-resort. This started the movement of construction over to what we now refer to as the strip.

Some of the most notable casinos currently in Vegas are the Hard Rock Hotel, which is very well known for their Sunday morning poolside event, Rehab, where you can sip a mimosa and reflect on your weekend escapades and The Palms Resort, with its amazing rooftop nightclub, Ghostbar. For luxury resort accommodations, be sure to check out New York New York , the Bellagio and Caesar's Palace. The MGM Grand and theme park is also an amazing spectacle, known for being the largest resort hotel in the world. Also be sure to get tickets to one of the many shows and concerts playing in Vegas, nightly; Cirque du Soleil, Blue Man Group and Stomp are just a few.

For daytime and family excursions, be sure to visit Mt. Charleston, where you can water ski, picnic and hike. Tours are also available. And at the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory, enjoy a self guided tour while sampling various divine delights. The Hoover Dam is only 34 miles from the city and is a modern world wonder not to be missed! There are also over 30 golf courses and a Wet N' Wild water park for the whole family to enjoy.

Remember to bring your camera and your check book and get ready for fun and excitement as you make new memories in this fantastic city.
