The Hotel Del, located in Coronado, right across the bridge from downtown, is just one of San Diego's famous landmarks. It is listed as a National Historic Landmark and was featured in the movie Some Like It Hot, along with many other movies and television shows over the years.

The Del has hosted a long list of famous guests including Marilyn Monroe, Charles Lindbergh, a number of US Presidents and foreign dignitaries, Babe Ruth and others. This stunning hotel is also said to be haunted by the ghost of Kate Morgan, who died at the hotel in 1892.

Alonzo Horton, a wealthy businessman, was the official founder of downtown San Diego. The famous Horton Plaza Mall, located in the heart of the Gaslamp, bears his name.

Are you a sports fan? Then you should plan on attending a game or event at Petco Park. Located in the heart downtown, this amazing new stadium is home to the San Diego Padres. Enjoy a baseball game while overlooking the beautiful Coronado Bay!
